ya it is really hard to tell ur mom a lot of people don't get why some people freak when they have to tell there mom they have there period but it is really hard the only thing u can do is say mom i need girl supplies or if u have a sis that is older (even better) tell her that u need girl supplies

tell ur mom. she knows what you going through. i kept mine a secret for 3 months before my mom found out.

I know exactly how you are feeling.

I had a mini-panic attack inside when the time came for me to tell her.

Depending on how old you are she probably knows you got it or you will soon, so sooner or later the pads and care products will just be there for you. Thats what moms do. Telling her is completely your decision, it does help but i know what you mean to the letter if you think its embarrasing! I just kinda spilled it out...theres no other way to. If you dont tell her it will be kinda hard surviving without the right things...

You could always go out and buy them and sneak them home or whatever...

I would tell her though, shes still gonna love you the same.

*My mom started crying...ummm thats the worst, and your allowed to get mad at her! Everything turns out okay...just go with the flow of things [no pun intended]

Good luck

I know how you feel. I was terrified to tell my mom.

But i sucked it up, and told her, and it wasnt as hard as i thought it would be. Just tell her, she went through it before.

I went and bought my own tampons and everything she does not know I started my period still two months ago I started.Tell her mom and do not make a plan to get around like me.

Guest3726

Well why exactly are you afraid to tell your mom? If you think she will tell people just tell her not to, no need to be afraid. Or if you have money go buy the neccesary stuff yourself.

there's no reason to be afraid. she went through the same thing. you just got to tell her.

Guest5865

Why are you scared?

Just tell her

She will help you through it and teach you about towels and tampons and stuff

Anyways what other choice do you have? Jusy never tell her and she'll think you have a problem?

You may feel embarrassed (I sure did when i had to) but it will be fine and you mum will be happy for you being a woman now (weird i know =P )

Have fun

your mom knows your going to get your period sweeite !

we are girls right.. having your period is apart of being a girl.. tell her.. your nervous I understand but moms are the best for helping with that kind of stuff.. no point in hiding it!

just go ahead and tell her i just got mine a few days ago and its feels embarrassing but she seemed happy haha

just tell her its not like its something bad

Guest593

why?? its totally normal to get your period she wont be angry or anything and she can help you with everything cuz shes been through the same. even if you two are not close, you should at least tell her, really, cuz otherwise she might worry about you not having it already. you dont have to ask her questions about it if you dont feel comfortable, you can always ask your friends. but she should know. its not a big deal trust me! i thought it was too, but my mom was just like: oh cool, here are my tampons and pads, what do you wanna use? and it was totally normal.

Guest9905
Guest9905

Well, do you have anything to handle your period with?

Pads? Tampons? Do you know how to use them?

If you honestly know these things, you can get along without telling her and she'll notice that you've got it anyway. Mom's know this stuff.

I would tell her though.

She'll definitely understand.

Good luck hun'.

Trust me, you shouldn't be afraid.

This is natural and it happens to all girls. It happedned to me a little over a year ago. Moms can help wth this kind of thing because they have in fact, gone through it and can give some good advice.

Besides, you do need your mom to buy you pads and help you with the usual cramps and bloating. Don't feel embarrased about this. It's one of the things that makes you a woman!

Tell her! you're gonna need supplies. Remember, she had to tell her mom once too! She'll understand.

This is what I did, cuz i was afraid to tell her...

I waited till she left the house and called her on he cell phone and instead of sayin the word period (I felt akward sayin that word) I said...Uhm, Mom I think my monthly viisitor have arived:[

Its not that bad. I freaked wen i had to tell her but at the end it felt likee it wasnt so hard.. im 13 by the way.. Its fine. ull b okay.

you are going to have to come clean with her. she will find out sooner or later and it will hurt her that you did not say anything. just tell her that you need her to go to the store and pick you up some personals. first sit her down and tell her that you have to talk, but you do not want her to make any comment or make a big deal about it. then just tell her you started and are very uncomfortable about talking about it right now... then go to your room!

Guest5027
Guest5027

don't be scared she wont hurt you or anything if you don't tell her now she's not gonna be happy about it and remember it's nothing to be afraid of.

why are you afraid to tell you mom that you started your period can i ask how old are you?

Guest5865
Guest5865

its ok. you dont have to have a major long talk about it. just casually tell her and say you took care of it already then walk away or something. trust me its ok

Guest6212
Guest6212

Why would you be afraid? A) This is not your fault. B) You have your period; this is a fact you cannot change. C) You may need her experience in this matter. D) She may not want to see you growing up this fast but ultimately, you and her must accept you are a turning into a woman physically.

Guest9454
Guest9454

Because...? What's wrong with your period? I mean, you don't HAVE to tell her, but you DO need pads and such, so tell her.

Guest6596

It's easy. I just said it casually whilst I was on the computer and she was watching TV. She asked did I have any questions and that was it.

Why? Guess what your mom is a girl and she probably one day started her first period. Don't understand your fear. What is happening to you is normal and part of growing up.

Guest5129

she'll understand ! your growing up it was going to come sooner or later. just say 'mom i need to go to the store i need some tampons or pads' she'll just know.
