I am having a problem with my Toshiba PSAF3U laptop can you help me?

I am using the AC adapter. It will turn on go to the screen with "normal installation" and then it stops working. What can I do to troubleshoot it? Can it because not all the windows were closed when I turned it off and it is storing al this in its memory? If so, how can I fix it
