Hi. My cockatiel is soon 3yrs old and he got attacked by a cat lately(last friday). I got him to vet imigiatly where they decided to operate him at once. they usually dont operate birds and let them sleep peacefully but my bird seemed that it would survive. and so he did. but he did get very injured(right wing, right leg and its back where the tailfeathers were supposed to be). he is coping well with medication and doesnt seem to be infected. but he has trouble walking. i have been observing its behaviour. he cant really put his weight on his right leg and prefer standing most of the time on the left leg. i was wondering if it is due to the injury he has on his nearly whole right side or if it could be that he got an heart attack when he was attacked by the cat and therefor has lost its balance on right foot. i am very worried! and he is very quite than earlier too, i guess that could be because of the medication. he does eat and drink properly and gets kind of active at the evening/ afternoon.. i dont understand this changing behaviour. please HELP!
