How to treat my little daughter?

I have two kids, a daughter just under 3 years and a son about 10 months old. Although my daughter is very friendly and quite loving by nature. At the same time she is very aggressive and tends to act wild if anything goes or done against her will. Me and my wife are very much concerned about such a behaviour of our daughter. Even beating her does not seem to be working out. As growing older, she is getting stubborn day be day so I would be more than grateful if someone could tell me what to do as parents?

Your daughter seems to be affected bcoz she must be feeling neglected after the arrival of a new baby in the house. It is quite natural to give more attention to the younger sib. Hitting the child may lead to sibling rivalry ,so be patient and try to involve her in caretaking, feeding and playing with the younger sib; also give her some importance and appreciate her small deeds.

Your daughter sound more like me... stubborn, agressive and emotional. First of all beating up is never an answer to supress agression, believe me. In my opinion, there are few things that you should do to control her anger:

- listen to what she has to say, ask her politely

- tell her stories from your past, ending in morals, she might relate herself with that.

- ask her to make friends, for that you can also admit her in a montessori.

One more reason for your daughter's behavior might me lack of love which you guys used to give her before the birth of your son. She might hav felt the division of this love and care between the two kids. Usually kids have this issue and there is no need to worry. She is a child and with love and communication, you will mold her attitude.
