Question:

How does one reset the LG Rumor?

My LG Rumor does not fully turn on. It brings me to the start up menu but then turns off. The process repeats endlessly. The battery is not dead for I have tried two different batteries. Please Help

I have spoken with sprint and Virgin Mobile on this issue. Since my phone was only 2 months old they sent me a replacement. This is a very common problem with the phone and cannot be reset. The phone has somehow slipped into a debug mode and cannot be fixed.

mine gets to the black and white "hello" screen and flashes hello every once in a while...wtf? how come I cant get passed this? i tryed taking out the battery.

This cannot be resolved by resetting the handset. It is a common problem on the Rumors. It has to be replaced. Do you have insurance on the phone or is it still under the one year manufacturer's warranty? If so I can tell you how to get it replaced for free. Resets are done with the following sequence of characters:- ##786#... but you will need the MSL to finish the reset... But of course you can't even do that on your Rumor because you can't get to the point where you actually see numbers on the screen... therefore you need a replacement.
