How Canadian government works is very easy. Canadians elect local MPs (Members of parliament). The political party with the most seats is the government. The prime minister not the president is the leader of the winning party. If you didn't win with enough seats, you will have a minority government. You can get lot more information on canada and how it works by simplying going to the following website. http://canada.gc.ca/home.html It has information on: * Governor General * Prime Minister * Parliament * Supreme Court * Government News * About Government

Canadians elect local MP`s (Members of parliament). The political party with the most seats is the government. The prime minister is the leader of the winning party. Some times there`s a minority government. The party with the most seats is the government ,but does not have 51%.In a minority they need some support from the opposition or the government falls and there`s another election. They do not last very long,we have one now and we will be going to the polls shortly. The opposition will fall the government or the Prime minister may call one.But we will have one soon. Here are the links for parliament and the recent polls.
