How do you feed a Lion in captivity?

i.e Do you just give them the food? Do you throw them the food from a distance?
Do you place them in a Lion pen and then give them the food? And also are there any equipment used when feeding a lion?

    If you want to feed the lion, you can throw meat and other items from outside the cage, while only the proper trainer can go inside the cage and feed the lion because otherwise it can be harmful for the person.
