I am from the US, visiting in India, using a COOLPIX L18/L16 Camera. I had taken about 300 pictures over the last three weeks. Yesterday, after using the camera to take a photo, the camera would not turn off, the scene was blank but illuminated, the green indicator light was off. I thought the batteries may need changing. I was unable to change the batteries for about 30 minutes. When I changed the batteries, the camera was again able to be turned off and the lens returned to the off position. However, when I turned the camera this question was displayed, "Card is not formatted. Format card? Yes or No." We attempted to view the pictures on a computer, but again the message was that the card was not formatted. The photos were definitely on the memory card because I have viewed them before this happened. How do we format the memory card without lossing the data?Again, camera is a COOLPIX L18/ Memory Card SD 2GB
