How do I take off the band on my freestyle shark X 2.0

i'm trying to put the watchface on another band that I bought separately, but I'm having trouble getting the original black rubber band off...

    the band is attached by a pin, you can see it when you flip the watch over. All you need to do is pry it away from the case with a thin tool, like a mini flat head srew driver.
