How do I remove the larger worm from the grinder body from kitchen aid fruit and vegetable strainer?

I used my kitchen aid fruit and vegetable strainer for the first time today. I'm trying to disassemble it for cleaning. The "larger worm" section is stuck in the grinder body. Any suggestions on removal?
