How do I remove the agitator from a Maytag Performa model PAVT920AWW

   You will need a 1/2 inch socket and a rachet, probobly need to use the extension for ratchet.  After taking off the fabric softener basket (mine was hard to get out - pull gently or try to pry with a flat head s***w driver), you will be looking down a tube which will probobly need to be cleaned out before you can see the bolt, then loosen the bolt and you are able to pull up and out the top of the agitator then you can take off the bottom portion.
