I have had my timeshare since 03 and have regretted since the beginning but here we are. Recently my job was downsized and I cannot make the payments anymore. My mother-in-law says I should just stop making the payments but not sure how that would affect my credit and if they will charge various legal fees & end up owing more. I have thought many times over the years that with as many people like me out there how is it that timeshares are not illegal. So many owners & not enough buyers!!! Please help, I can not afford this anymore.
