How come my Tamagotchi's won't play together?

I have to Tamagotchi's (They are both on their second level of age) and when I try to connect them and hit "Games" it wont work.

    when it show the connecting screen, press b.

    idk i have the same problem except it wont connect at all they are both the same age and they just dont want to connect and they are both ver 4
