You can maintain an ideal weight of the body and an effective lifestyle in order to stay away from type 2 diabetes. So far there is no proper way to stay away from type 1 diabetes. There is not an effective way for screening test for the type 1 diabetes in people who don’t have the symptoms.
Screening for the type 2 diabetes and people who do not have any symptoms are recommended for:
Overweight children that have the risk factors for the diabetes that start at the age of 10 and repeat after every 2 years. Some of the other overweight adults that have BMI more than 25 also have the risk of catching diabetes. Adults who are over 45 years, repeat it after every 3 years. In order to prevent the complications of diabetes, you can visit the doctor or diabetes specialist after every four months.
Try to have the following regular tests which are:
Get your blood pressure checked every year. Have your glycosylated hemoglobin checked after every 6 months if your diabetes is controlled, otherwise get it checked after every 3 months. Get yearly tests to make sure that your kidneys are working properly. You can visit Opthalmologist at least once a year, or you have the signs of diabetic retinopathy.
