Adidas is one of the popular brands in India and their aim is to create a product that is honest and must perform. They use technology for producing functional design and their development team creates the actual prototypes. These prototypes are then forward to the retail market by the marketing department.
An Adidas product is the result of the unique thought and strong energy of many different people. The marketing department of the Adidas analyzes the athletes’ needs and set an elementary concept of how those needs should be fulfilled. This idea is then presented to the designer department. Based upon these suggestions that they received from the marketing department, the design teams sketch suitable prototypes. The people from design and marketing department analyze the prototype sketches jointly; narrowing the choice to those they anticipate will most successfully meet athletes’ requirements. The Adidas’s development department then works with the design department in order to produce an actual prototype from the selected designs.
Three separate groups: marketing, design and development set a meeting and during their discussion they discuss that how they can improve the quality of the prototype. Samples are wear-tested in order to prove that the product meets Adidas quality standards of performance and durability and stands up to the demands of the sport for which it was made. Preview samples are introduced to key accounts and consumer focus groups for obtaining feedback. This information is used for the final modifications and at least samples are distributed to Adidas sales representatives for presentation to retailers. The end and final product is supplied to the retailers.
