Hitachi Camera not working

I have bought a HITACHI HDC-57IE5 digital camera weeks ago which was working properly until last nite.Last time I used it to transfer pic to my pc throguh USB without having Batteries inside the camera.Then this morning I put two new batteries in but the camera does not turn on.If anyone knows abt the problem let me know the solution plz.I am not sure if the camera is gone or other problem?Plz help.
