High School and Period

I'm going to be a freshman in public school and for the past three years, I've been homeschooled, so taking care of my feminine protection is easy. But now I'm going to public school and am worried about how I'll take care of it. I was thinking about putting a tampon in at the beginning with a pad below and then just taking out the tampon when I go to the bathroom. But what if i need to change the pad?? Help!
