Are the Haunted Place really haunted?

You may have noticed that Ghosts are often found in older buildings, and there is no stopping them from hanging around newer places, especially if the place is built on an old graveyard or near the place their old house once stood. I am wondering why are they not there when it is day time. No has ever proved that ghost are really there. I don't think any place is ever haunted, it is just the perception of men that ghost really exist.
