Ali - thank you VERY much for your instructions. I was getting ready to take a chainsaw to this lock (they should have called the company Harlot, not Harloc), but I was able to remove the blank thing thanks to you!

Guest11153960: How do I tighten a loose harloc front door knob -- it has a lever on the outside of the door and a knob on the inside -- no visible set screw
Ali Abdullah :: ok no problem
Ali Abdullah :: think that you will find that there a slot or hole in the shaft that inside knob is on. This needs to be dpressed while pulling the knob off. If it is a slot, a small flat screwdriver will do it, if it is a hole use a paper clip.

Ali Abdullah :: There should be a round trimplate (rose) on the inside of the door around the knob shaft which will pry off with a flat blade screwdriver. Underneath should be screws to remove

Ali Abdullah :: If your deadbolt has a removable plate around the bolt:
Ali Abdullah :: Remove the faceplate from the edge of the door
Ali Abdullah :: . Using a 5/64" Allen wrench (it may need to be slightly larger or smaller), insert it next to the bolt
Ali Abdullah :: Using the existing key, insert part way and use as a screwdriver to unscrew the cylinder.
Ali Abdullah :: Remove the screws from the inside thumbturn (or do the same for the interior cylinder).

Ali Abdullah :: Remove the screws that face the inside which go through the bolt mechanism
Ali Abdullah :: Slide bolt out of housing.
Ali Abdullah :: Some deadbolts have what look like holes in the inside cylinder housing. Inserting a key and turning it will move a plate behind the outer plate which will reveal the mounting screws.
