   Hi, Most of these are held in place by spring steel clips and gravity. The clips have an ugly habit of rusting (who woulda thought?) and making it very tough to remove it. If it hadn't been an old machine due for recycling anyhow, I wouldn't have been worried about the chipped porcelain that happened while prying that section off with the before-mentioned rusty clips. It seems to me I used a 3/4 inch wide wood chisel to get the first movement and once started, it became progressively easier to pry it up.
