HDMI cable connection from TV to dvd surround system

Alright got that connected but when its connected the surround mutes on its own any suggestions on how to fix that or why it is happening?

    I purches the HDMI cable for my DVD to TV and i fixed it. But the problems is that the Tv screen shows the yellow and orange colors when i put the DVD on Dvd player.I mean the picture is unclear.there is no way to identify the pictures.so could you help me the tips to fix it?
