I have noticed that almost all of the Gymnasts are shorter people. I checked more than hundred people's profile, especially their heights in order to confirm, and found most of them shorter. I am curious to know why all Gymnasts are shorter people. Does Gymnastic make them so or only shorter people are successful at Gymnastics?

I think you noticed the right thing. I myself have done some research on it and came up with same opinion. Actually not all Gymnasts are short, but most of the successful gymnasts are shorter. There is very interesting fact behind smaller people as most successful gymnasts and it is that smaller people have greater strength to body weight ratio. Or on other words you can say that it is easier for a smaller person to develop the strength necessary to perform the difficult skills in gymnastics. On the other hand, longer people have difficulty in doing some of the complex gymnastic skills due to less body balance. For your question that only shorter people can become gymnasts, I would say NO. Anyone can try gymnastics or become gymnast, but for people with short height, it is comparatively easier than those of with more height. Shorter people need less effort while longer ones need more effort. Yes one thing is more important, and that is age. Gymnastics needs extreme flexibility that comes with younger age. A person who started gymnastics at very young age would be much successful than that of one who started late. So, I feel the body height adjusts itself when one starts gymnastics from very young age!
