Are guitar games such as the new Beatles: Rock Band taking the place of actually learning to play the instrument?

    Yes, I think people are somehow more motivated to play Guitar Hero games because there's immediate reward in the form of applause, advance in the game, points and so on. Learning how to play the guitar can be quite tedious at times and not at all relaxing.
