    Deadwood is an American western drama and series, it was produced and written by David Milch. The series went on air on the Cable network HBO from March 21st 2004 to August 27,2006. It contains total of 12 episodes. The whole show was filmed in Deadwood, South Dakota before and after the areas annexation by the Dakota Territory. The series became popular from camp to town and it contained themes of western capitalism. The show features large ensemble cast and many historical figures also appear in the character. The name of such character who appeared on the show are Seth Bullock, Al Swearengen, Wild Bill Hickok, Sol Star, Calamity Jane, Wyatt Earp, E.P Farnum, Charlie Utter and George Hearst. There are some historical truths as well as substantial fictional elements.
    The initial plan was to conclude the series with two special TV movie, but the plans have not been completed so far. Most of the stars also say that it will not return in the HBO. HBO repeatedly said that these two movies could still be made. But it is also noted that in the year 2008 the possibility of the two movies was made possible. The show was produced by Red Board Productions and Roscoe Productions which is in association with HBO and also Paramount Television.
