I have a Grandfather Clock that will only keep ticking for about five minutes then the ticking stops. I checked the pendulum and it seems to be hanging okay. The clock is on a very level surface and is sitting very plum according to my level. I have all three weights higher than the bottom of the pendulum. They seem to work freely. Any help as to why it stops ticking and then the pendulum will eventually stop?
It it an Ethan Allen Model 08-3803. Serial # 8145. Inside it has the number B122759 stamped on the mount holding the chimes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
