Tell the name of a movie about God and radio

All I want to know about a movie for which I have blur thoughts in my mind. I do not know how to express my thoughts. Let me tell you some of its scenes which I always remember. The movie starts in a small American town where the people of the town hear a very unique voice. They assume that the voice they heard was of God. Or maybe it was just their speculation or something else. What I am trying to find out is the name of this classic movie. Just tell me the name of the movie. I recall my memory but still confused and want to know the name of the movie. The movie was of black and white era and I watched it in the 1950s.
