Liverpool’s Johnson has been in excellent attacking form for his new club so far this season – scoring twice in four games - but doubts persist over his defending for his country. Will Capello stick with him?

Johnson has indeed been in good form for Liverpool - scoring goals against both Stoke and Bolton this season - and perhaps this confidence comes from playing behind the industrious Dirk Kuyt, who often covers for the full back when he goes forward. The likes of Shaun Wright-Phillips and Aaron Lennon are excellent wingers but don't offer Johnson that protection when England are defending. Wes Brown is probably a better defender, but if Capello sacrificed Johnson for the Manchester United man then wouldn't that be a negative move?
