Kappa Kappa Gamma (ΚΚΓ) is a women's fraternity, established by the students of Monmouth College, in Monmouth, Illinois, USA. The organization was formed as early as 1869, but it was officially recognized on October 13, 1870. Kappa Kappa Gamma is considered as one of the oldest women's Greek-letter societies which is existing today.
Scholarship or intellectual development is the first priority of the Kappa Kappa Gamma. Till now, it has provided thousands of scholarships to its member students.
It has total membership of more than 235,000 women, having 137 collegiate chapters in the United States and Canada. Kappa Kappa Gamma has more than 307 alumnae associations throughout the world.
Kappa Kappa Gamma is a fraternity of the women, because it was founded before the term 'sorority' practically came into use. However, because it enrolls only women, it is usually referred to as a sorority. Kappa Kappa Gamma is also known as "KKG" and "Kappa."
Kappa was founded by six exceptional young women who believed that they could take on the world and forms something entirely new. They were taught to love learning and literature; originated the idea of Kappa Kappa Gamma and also drafted its constitution, planned its motto and chose its badge and name as well.

The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation also supports the operation of the Stewart House Museum in Monmouth, Illinois and the Heritage Museum in Columbus, Ohio.
