have 3 120-1072b detectors all hard wired. I have been trying to narrow down where the beeping is coming from, and it is driving me crazy. i replace two of the three and the third one is disconnected because i didnt but three(but i will). Is having the third one disconnected causing the system to still beep???????

Firex product is garbage... Everyone has the same problem and there is no fix to it. Replace the product all together.

I tried what was suggested to stop the beeping, but my unit did not chirp. It started a continuous high frequency beep that I could barely hear. I have tried it several times and get the same result, and the ceiling part is still chirping. Help. What else can I do?

I have 5 hardwired FireX smoke detectors. One has decided to continue beeping regardless of the new battery or without it! Have treid the cleaning idea, also tried several new batteries. Whats the next step or should I just replace the unit? Does the connector just pull out without a special tool?

Mine was chirping every 30 seconds or so. I appears that I mounted it upside down. Nothing in the docs about it, but it seemed to make a difference and has quit.

We have 4 hard-wired firex fadc smoke alarms and they are chirping even with new batteries in them. Also, the Lowes store we bought our firex fadc smoke detectors at, told me they are being discontinued. Is that true?

Guest16778810 (above) had the correct answer to my chirping problem. Thank you very much. If you can't find what he said, here it is: Take the unit off the ceiling, remove the battery and press the test button for 5 seconds. The unit should chirp once. Replace the battery, close the unit, and press the test button for a full ten seconds (the alarm will sound). Wait a full minute, the unit should stop chirping. Replace on ceiling.

I have 8 firex 120-1056C detectors hard wired in the house. Can I replace these with a smoke/co2 detector using the same connector plug?

Help! We have hard wired Firex smoke detectors. One is making a high frequency sound continuously that we cannot get to stop. What do we do to make it stop. It is horrible.

Many people online are having the same issues. Firex say to vaccuum it out and check the battery teminals on the unit and see if they are making contact. I have the same issue with many new batteries the beep doesn't go away. Bottom line i bought all new detector different brand and have not had a beep in a year. Firex knows about this problem but for some reason can't figure it out
