Which one is best Fireworks or Photoshop?

Hi,
I am learning web design from a great book (the missing manual series) and would like to add image editing to my repertoire.

I tried to learn Photoshop a few years ago using Classroom in a book but it wasn't successful.  I was thinking once I am done with Dreamweaver, should I move on to Fireworks or Photoshop?

    The best tools for beginners for web designing is fireworks, you can learn designing better as compared to learning it by using photoshop.i would suggest learn fireworks to learn photoshop
