They are grayinsh-white and I have seen them outside on the window sill, in the bathroom shower stall and tubs, as well as around the bathroom and kitchen sink area. They are also on the bathroom heating baseboards (whatever you call it} and have seen a couple on the basement carpet. I once found a package of diaper wipes under the bed in the basement guest room and when I opened it, there were there, on the wipes. ARGH! I usually see them in the summer. They can jump. When I kill them, I get a black dust-like substance on the tissue. I looked on the net and even on this site and you explain it as a springtail. But these bugs don"t have an antenna as long. The pics of springtails just don"t look like these. Their bodies are about 1/8" long and the antenna curves outward and is really tiny. Please help!? What are they and how do I get rid of them!!!!

They look a bit like beetles, but look a bit more like a sowbug underneath (like a similar number of legs) & not very long antenna, and with the strangest single white stripe going horizontally across their backs. I also keep finding these other smaller bugs, could be a young version of what I have mentioned above. They are very small, but appear to look a bit like very tiny millipedes but with fewer and well hidden legs (kind of tucked underneath the body) and more chubby segments with defined ridges inbetween.
I have vacuumed the floor but found one dead the day after.
They probably have something to do with the stuffy atmosphere in my room, because I also use the room to do body building and regularly get very sweaty. I have 'googled' this and found nothing, and even on this site, found no creature described with a single horizontal white stripe going across it's back.
please get back to me when you can,
Thankyou & Regards,

(then they would release it) On monday morning he noticed that it had layed eggs ona twig we had put in the jar. Two rows of seven overlapping white "cantalope seeds". we took it to the class where they will still release the katydid but we want to keep the eggs and see if they hatch. Do you have any advice on how to support the eggs?

They don't seem to cluster up or move in large groups, but every time I wipe them with a towel and flush them, more come back to the same place. They seem to like my sink, the top of my toilet, and almost every part of my shower. I've sprayed all sorts of cleaning chemicals around these areas and they just keep coming back. I'm going to try some different bug sprays today, but I would really like to know just what they are in case this happens again.

Like I said, they are the size of a pinhead or a period. They seem to be brown with a red tint. From what I can tell they have about (I would guess, due to the size) six legs. They may have antenna, it's hard to tell if that's what those are in the front or if they're just more legs. They move at a moderate rate. Not fast, but not slow. About as fast as an ant. They're clingy, so if they find something they like (skin or a towel, or really anything but tiles), they can be hard to get off. They don't group in masses or mounds, but do like to hang out in the same places. Typically each spot will have about 20-30 of these things, depending on how long it's been since I've wiped them up. It's been about five days now since I first noticed these things.

I don't have any photos as of yet, nor do I have anyway of looking at this closer than I have.

I hope my information isn't too vague.

Thanks for taking the time to read over my problem. Hopefully I'll get these pests cleaned up soon.

Black Worms in Toilet. Black Worms in Toilet. For a little over a week now have had these tiny black worms that look like eels from a distance but think they look hairy up close. I have multiple toilets but only have seen them in one (thankfully). I assume from research they are drain fly larvae. I have called pest control, & plumber. They don't know what to do. I have drained water from toilet rim & filled with bleach twice. Seemed like might be killing them, today I did this again & just looked & there were 3 new ones swimming. One alternative the plumber suggested is replacing whole toilet. How does one get rid of these things. New house - clean so don't understand this issue. Have party planned - embarrased that people will see them.
Thanks for help.

How can I get rid Tiny grey-black worms.

QUESTION: I first found about 3-4 greyish black worms in my bathroom sink. some of them were dead, some alive. i cant stand them...they scare me so much. they are about __ long...somtimes a teensy bit shorter. i dont think they have legs, because they slither. when my sister was later sweeping the floor of my bedroom, she found about 3 or 4 more in the dustpan. just today, i found two more behind my garbage can. i dont know if they're something to really worry about! i am so scared of where i step now because they're so hard to spot! are they fully grown or are they some sort of larvae? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

ANSWER: Dear Abhia - Although I cannot provide a definitive diagnosis from your description, I doubt very much that they are anything to be worried about. It would be great if you could take some photos of them for me to examine, but if that is not feasible for you to do, and you live in the United States, please let me know your state of residence, and I should be able to refer you to a more local source for assistance in identification. At this point, I believe that they most likely are the larvae of a fly (if they lack legs of any sort), or possibly a small beetle (if they have legs).
Waiting to hear back,
Saugy

QUESTION: I wish I had taken a picture, and I certainly would if I could find another one of these insects! However, I haven't seen anymore since...hoping that I don't! I live in New York, if that helps. Thank you for responding so soon. I'm a bit reassured that you don't find this is something to worry about.

Tiny Black Bugs(size of pin head)

I have had a situation occur in my bedroom. Thousands of these tiny black bugs that seem to have no movement, wings or eyes. They mainly were on my bedspread and around on the carpet near the bed. I have a dog that stays in the house, and sleeps on the bed, but absolutely nothing is on him. I vaccumed well and nothing had appeared the next day. What are they and how did they get in my house? Did the dog carry them in? Thank You

what is the correct way to study an insect if your an entomologist?

i have what i think could be bird mites have had the house sprayed but still itching all night long

black round bug smaller than head of pin.
