Hi,
I have just bought a Waite, Thresher Co gold thimble.
It is marked with a star with the thimble inside and 10 underneath for the size.
Seller say it is 10k or 14k gold.
Could the mark mean it can be goldfilled as it is not markek for the gold contents?
Answer greeately appreciated.
Many thanks & Regards, Aida

<a href="javascript:displayImg("http://z.about.com/w/experts/Collectibles-General-Modern-684/2008/07/IMG_3454-JPG.jpg","IMG_3454.JPG","Nicholas Gish Thimble")">

IMG_3454.JPG

I purchased a Nicholas Gish Thimble (looks like bears on a merry-go-round. My understanding is that Gish only worked with pewter. I need your expert help. The outer part (rotating part is a Gish), however it is attached to a shiny thimble from Spain. The Gish part was apparently drilled into the Spanish thimble (no metal marking) and is so sharp you could cut your finger. Before I contact the seller, I was hoping you all could comfirm to me that Gish only worked with pewter and never attached his pewter to cheap Spanish (no metal mark) shiny thimbles.

I looked on Google and could find very little about Gish, but from what I could gather, it sounded like he only worked with Pewter.

I sure would appreciate your insight and expert opinion.

Sincerely,
Susan
I am not sure if you can answer this question, or if it would be better in the Sports Trading/Cards section, but they seem to specialize in cards.

I received a framed, autographed Sports Illustrated Cover. It is in mint condition inside the frame. It is the June 17, 1996 magazine cover, with a picture of Patrick Roy,autographed by him, celebrating winning the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche. The cover is from a Special Edition version, which was available only in Denver.

If you could give me a ballpark figure of how much money I could possibly get for this, or send me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
