I'm 20 years old and have been with my husband for three years. about three years ago i was diagnosed with chlamydia upon a hospital visit for lower abdominal pain. I had received the Std from a previous partner, and think i had it for a few months before the hospital visit. anyway, i was treated and returned a few months later and was given a clean bill of health. i have been back twice since my hospital visit. and both times the pap smear came back fine. my question is since chlamydia is a leading cause if PID, would those tests have picked it up? considering that my last test was a year after i was diagnosed with the original std? I would think that it would have surfaced by then. but  i just want to be sure as i have been having some pain during sex for quite some time now. and have some irregular periods. i want to rule out any possibilities. my husband is clean and clear. if that helps.
