My husband found one on the bed and the other one under the bed. There is no punctures on any part of their bodies, they don't look fine and they are not mobile. They are still breathing though. I'm so upset are they going to die? Please help. Thank you Sat, 09 Apr 2011 06:25:00 GMThttp://www.maybenow.com/Parrotlet-help-q5294201http://www.maybenow.com/Parrotlet-help-q5294201Thursday we got our first parrotlet.  We have a cat, but have not exposed Quizno (the bird) to it.  The pet store did not know exactly how old he is, they think about a year.  He is a Pacific, bites and is very reserved.  He does not seem to be eating much at all, even though I change his food and water (bottled) every day.  He does not want to play or do anything much but eat millet.  His cage is about 18x18x24.  The original cage we got him with was less than 12x12.  He will take broccoli from my fingers as well as bread, but does not seem to swallow.  The pet sore was out of his type of food and I got him a small hookbill pellet mix he would not eat.  Then I got him cockatiel seed mix.  He does not make much noise.  The first day he chirped a lot, but now he chirps less.  His eyes seem bright and he does not appear to have loose bowels or a cold. My ferret is being treated for a gastric ulcer. We are giving him subQ fluids every 12 hours. PeptoBismol 1ml., Amoxilin .5ml, and Metronidaz .5ml every 8 hours. 1/4 of a 10gram Prisolec pill crushed on his Ferretvite, once a day. We sirynge feed him  about  12ml of his ferret food, made into soup every three hours, and 6 to 9 ml of Pedyalite every three hours. We did this until he went back to his dry kibbles. Today, nine days after starting him on medicine, and seeing him back to life and VERY active, and playing with us like never before, he started vomiting again. At first, during the day, nothing came out. But now at night, a little water did come out. We are very lost now. The vet we go to, doesn't seem to know or care very much about ferrets. Unfortunately, we've spent everything we could have. She did x-rays, and didn't see any intestinal blockage. Our house is very ferret proof. He had even managed to gain some weight back. At least it looked that way. I going to start him on sirynge feeding again, because I don't think an empty tummy goes well with an ulcer. I gave him 9ml of Pedyalite after he vomited, and some Ferretvite and someLaxatone. Please help us. You are the only one my wife and I can go to for help right now. We are willing to fight for our baby's life! Oh, he is a little over two years old, weighed in at 2.3 pounds at the vet, due to the weight loss, and is an Albino. Wed, 20 Apr 2011 05:17:00 GMThttp://www.maybenow.com/Brown-skin-q2690910http://www.maybenow.com/Brown-skin-q2690910We have had an iguana for about two months.  He was a baby from a pet store when we bought him.  We have read a great deal and think we have correct heating, lighting, humidity, etc.   The iguana has brown patches on his nose and the top of his head and a bit on the back of his neck. I don't know if they are getting browner or not, but I am noticing/worrying more.  They are not crusty or infected.  They look just like his other scales, but are brown. We took him to a vet last week, for a check-up, and the vet said his color was beautiful.  But I'm paranoid enough to wonder, knowing this vet is not a herp specialist. Our iguana eats and poops every day. I don't notice that he drinks, though we have a fairly large bowl of fresh water in his cage. He seems to enjoy being handled and has a good level of activity.  He does not act sick in any way. What do you think? Thanks!
