President Lincoln did not initially include freedom for the slaves as one of the North’s war aims but later he changed his mind. What was the reason behind it?

Lincoln was the first on who made eye on it and made sure that the further expansion of this cultures should be stopped. In the beginning there was no consideration on his part but then he stood by the platform of Republican party in 1860. And the law was passed that slavery should not be passed and expanded to more states. This was a campaign and a sort of new law stated and filed by the republicans that slavery should be completely abolished and this culture should be stopped. In 1842 Lincoln married to Mary Todd, she was a daughter of a prominent slave owning family and his brother served in the army later . Lincoln later staged and returned to the politics in 1854 and soon became voice of the slave peoples which is also known as power of the southern slaves owners. During the American Civil war, Lincoln used his powers of presidency and passed a law for the slaves which stated that all the slaves should be given freedom but the border area were exempted and the areas which were controlled by and under Union Control. This law included all the slaves and prisoner who escaped the Union side while millions others were also freed as more areas of the South came under Union Control.
