One of the few evil characters that can be convinced to join your party of adventurers in the PC role-playing game Baldur's Gate, Edwin is a highly disagreeable wizard who will constantly mock the main character and anyone who associates with him. However, his powerful combat spell-casting abilities are worth putting up with his abrasive personality, however complete the various quests inside the Library of Candle keep at the beginning of the game until the main character is forced to leave. Travel south the Sword Coast until you reach the town of Nashkel. Once you enter the town, the party will be confronted by a guard who will demand to know your business there. Assure the guard that you are not going to make any problems, and then go south and then west to a small bridge near the Belching Dragon Tavern. Speak with the wizard in red robes named Edwin standing at the east side of the bridge. Ignore Edwin's insults and ask him to join the party, at which point he will become a playable character.
