Educational system in Philippines is governed and controlled by three Government organizations that are as follow:
Department of Education
Department of Culture
Department of Sports
Technical education and the skill development authority
Department of education in Philippines is working with the mission and agenda "to provide quality basic education that is equitably accessible to all by the foundation for lifelong learning and service for the common good."
Department of education is also striving hard to materialize its vision encapsulated in this ambitious statement of the ministry, "develop a highly competent, civic spirited, life-skilled, and God-loving Filipino youth who actively participate in and contribute towards the building of a humane, healthy and productive society."

Like other parts of the world academic year in Philippines is structured after the seasons. In the past four decades educational levels in the country have widely improved at all levels. School enrolment level for the year 1999-2000, was around 12.6 million. Private sector holds dominance over the higher education in Philippines. One third of private institutes in Philippines are working totally with nonprofit aims, while two third of higher education institution in Philippines are working with monetary agenda.
