We have a 1 year old EBD that is extremely big for the breed.  He is about 76lbs (or that is what he was when I weighed him last month). My husband and I work all day, we are usually gone by 7am and don't get home until after 5.  My mother comes over every morning and picks up the dog so that it doesn't have to be by himself and recently he has become horrible. He is confined to the kitchen when he is by himself at our house, and has the run of the house at my parents during the day.  My mother comes over and takes him out; she can never get him back in.  He will pull her down the stairs and right out the door and over to her house (they are our neighbors).  He is EXTREMELY strong too.
He also has been bolting out the doors when ever they are open.  As soon as a door opens, he is out it so fast you can't catch him.   She also has a pen in her back yard to put the dog in during the day, and some how he is getting out of it.  We are still unsure how he is managing to do this.  We think that he is managing to push open the door some how, but when we go look after he gets out the door is still shut and there are no holes in the fence for him to get out, once again he is extremely strong and I believe he could push the door open.  This pen was for their previous dog which was a Rotty and he could never get out of it.
She says that he is always by her feet no matter where she goes in the house and he trips her and my father all day long, he will just walk by their feet and they dont see him cause he is so low to the ground or they will be doing something and turn around and there he will be waiting to trip them.
His new thing is to jump on anything and anyone, especially kids.  I don't know how to handle this.  He get so excited when people come in and out of the house that all he does is jump on everyone that walks in the door and with his size and weight he is knocking people over. She stated that he is also biting but it is usually when they are playing, and not intentionally to hurt her, but she is scared he will do this with children when they are playing with him.
The problem that I have is he is not really bad for me at home.  I do walk him and play with him when I go home, he goes to the door if he has to go out, and he walks right back into the house with me.  He never bolts out the doors for me .He plays with his toys and plays catch and fetch, and sometimes tug of war (but I stop it when he becomes too aggressive), but apparently he is ADHD during the day for my mother.  She states that he is getting to be too strong to handle and she doesn't know if she will continue letting him out, because she can't control him, but I don't want him to be alone all day.  He has been in training classes before and knows his basic commands and will do them for hours if you have treats.  I dont know if there is something else that I should be doing other than taking him to the training classes and getting him better behaved.  He is not neutered; do you think that has something to do with his behavior?
