Does anybody know the historical origin of the word 'Bodacious'?

I heard it originated from an English (Scottish?) warrior-woman who defended her tribe from an invasion from the Romans. Any knowledge on the topic?

    It comes from Boadicea the Queen of the Icini (In eastern England). She was the wife of  Celtic King Prasutagus.  After her husband died, she led an attack against the Romans. The term "bodacious babe" originates from her name.
