Do animals commit suicide like humans do?

   Some animals can become emotionally charged and put their lives at risk when they've lost a loved one within their group, for example a fallen elephant will have a family member stand over the body for lengthy periods at a time in hopes that it will get back up until they realize it is futile. Some animals like spiders know that there are risks involved with mating to the point where they can become the female spiders next meal, so there is no real definitive answer for this. Being emotionally charged doesn't necessarily mean that you know you will be committing suicide, us as humans are able to weigh the pros and cons of any situation giving us the ability to contemplate any decision.
