Do Woman Have to Pay More for Insurance Plans?

I have just got employed. My employer does not provide coverage and I am looking to buy an individual plan. I have heard that woman need to pay more as compared to their male counterparts. Is that true?

    As a woman, I have always paid a higher premium and I could never understand the logic behind it. It is good that the reforms have rectified this obvious discrimination. I am happy that when I go in for my next health plan, I do not have to shell out more than men of my age, lifestyle and health status. http://www.hcentive.com
