Though I am an America, my family has its roots in China. I am looking for an individual health plan for myself. Being an Asian American, do I have any special privileges?

Yes it is true that there are no special benefits for any particular ethnic community. I am originally from the Pacific Islands and was excited seeing a different section for me. But the provision remains the same for everyone. However, the Affordability Act has made individual plans more affordable and one should one waste much time in buying one. http://www.hcentive.com/

No. The health reforms primarily remain the same for all ethnic communities though they have been categorized separately in the Act. The incentives and the benefits remain unchanged. You will be eligible for tax credits and prevention and wellness benefits as you have applied for an individual plan. However, the government has planned to move towards eliminating disparities that Asian Americans face by investing in data collection and research on health disparities. If you are looking for individual medical plans, then check out web portals such as the hcentive.com. It will give you a detailed quote comparison and help you get a fair idea about the kind of plan that you need to purchase. http://www.hcentive.com
