Disassemble couch to fit into doorway

I have a sofa sleeper I want to put in the 2nd bedroom of my condo. realized only after I got the heavy thing all the way upstairs that its not possible to fit it through the doorway. Sofa Dimensions are: 84Lx36Dx36H. The doorway is only 81 high. the hallway is so tight it is only 39 wide. I really hope I can get this into the room if I disassemble part of the sofa armrest so I can loose those 3 extra inches not allowing me to slide the slide through the door vertically.Do you have any insight into my thoughts? If I do not disassemble I figured I would have to try to alter the doorway or just sell this sleeper (no refunds) and get a new one that will fit. My sofa can be found at bestchairs.com stationary sofa shannon collection

Sofa could be disassembled and reassembled, there are company that provide that service( Tony's upholstery 1-401-603-0344  1-401-521-3755 ) they cover RI & Mass.

Compay has been providing that kind of service since 1988

I completely understand your thoughts and you are very much right in it. your problem is that you are not being able to enter the sleeper you just bought. You either have to enlarge the door size or you can disassemble the couch to fit into the doorway.
Well it is not a big deal but you need to hire a carpenter who will remove the armrest for you and make it possible for you to enter the sleeper into your room. As you mentioned that you bought this sofa because it is very much comfortable so I think you should not replace it with another one.
You can remove the armrest with the help from a carpenter and it won't cost you much. And if you want to purchase another sofa instead of this then you are free in doing that as well but then you must keep the door size in your mind. Best of luck.
