I have a question related to the physical education. It is quite obvious that Physical education is more of a subject then something which has just everything to do with physical fitness and training. Nevertheless, I would want to know what actually is the difference between physical education and what we call physical fitness.

In simple words we can say, Physical Fitness is when you exercise physically and Physical education is basically learning about it. Physical fitness is just one portion of physical education. Physical fitness can refer to strengthening your body either by cardiovascular endurance or strength training while Physical education can then go on to include sport education, locomotors and non-locomotors education and the teaching of manipulative skills. Physical education trends have developed recently to incorporate a greater variety of activities. Introducing students to lifetime activities like bowling, walking/hiking, or Frisbee at an early age can help students develop good activity habits that will carry over into adulthood. Some teachers have also started to include stress-reduction techniques such as yoga and deep-breathing. Teaching non-traditional sports to students may also provide the necessary motivation for students to increase their activity, and can help students learn about different cultures. School physical education programs offer the best opportunity to provide physical activity to all children and to teach them the skills and knowledge needed to make and maintain an active lifestyle. Physical education teachers assess student knowledge, motor and social skills, and provide instruction in a safe, supportive environment.
