   Kant's ethics require one to do those things which are consistent with the categorical imperative, no matter how disastrous the results are. His ethics is radically nonconsequentialist. Mill thinks that the probable results of an act (or, in the case of rule-utilitarianism, the probable results of following the rule that mandates the act) "feed back" to the choice and make what happens moral or not. Hence, his ethics is radically consequentialist; intent is irrelevant.
