Question:

Danby Freezer (5.5 cu) won't get cold.... What can I do?

I just bought a Danby Freezer (5.5 cu). I plugged it in and it seemed to be working (you could hear it start to hum). I came back several hours later to see if it was cold enough to load, and it wasn't even cold. Green light was on, dial turned all the way to maximum. Now, it doesn't even sound like its working. Help.

if freezer is new, call the place where you bought it from. if not turn the climate control all the way off, wait for a few minutes & turn it back on to mid range of 4 or 5,, if you hear humming from the compressor then you know the climate control is working, even so if doesn't start cooling the thermostat could be bad. also the relay on the compressor could be bad, this would require a service technican
