Compaq Server and Compaq SDLT Possible Hardware...

I have several ML370 Compaq servers with internal Compaq SDLT drives running under NW 5.1 SP4. We have had issues where Netware will loose sight of the drive or the backup software will fail the job due to a tape communications error. We have had this problem for some time and have troubleshoot most everything. We have used the most recent versions of nwtape and dlttape. SDLT firmware, Backup software etc.We also have the same harware but runing NT4.0. It is more stable but not 100%Has anyone had similar problems with this hardware arrangment.
