Coby MP822-4G Frozen

I am known to be pretty good with electronics so someone I know asked me to try and fix their mp3 player. It is a Coby MP822-4G Touch Screen. I plugged it into my computer and a screen came up saying Welcome please wait and it's been frozen that way for quite a while.I tried resetting it but it just returns to the same screen. I have looked it up on other websites and so far I've found that plenty of people have had the same problem, but no one knows how to fix it. What can I do?

    Mine plays FLV files fine. It will not play mp3 or mp4 songs. It puts those songs in folders and I cannot get rid of the folders, which I thought might be the problem. I've tried deleting & copying, moving - you name it. I'm at my wit's end. However, FLV songs work fine. The problem is, I have few of those compared to mp3 and mp4 songs. One thing I noticed is that after a few months of little use, the on/off button stopped working well. It is fussy to even get this unit turned on. When I do, I get my FLV songs. I have to put up with that for now. If anyone knows how to get the mp3 or mp4 songs working, I would appreciate knowing.

    these coby mp822 SUCK !!!!! I called coby they told me were to go to coby usa .com no luck still can not get anything to down load to fix my mp4 50.00 down the drain someone coby or the store I got it from needs to give me back my money ,like 50.00 grows on trees ,,lol .I am so mad I feel like calling my local news this is so sad

    well i found a online sight with the proper media manger and it got this for 10 dollars from my friend and so farthe screen works and it plays songs and theese comments scared me so i just turned it on and it still works

    Yup same here. I do not know how to even fix this mine doesn't even do anything when you hit the restart. It just stays frozen. What a cheap c**p hole. I got a 20 buck mp3 and it has lasted me going on a year. This is pretty sad that this thing won't even work.

    Yeah, I held one for 5 minutes and it broke too, and now I'm being blamed. I'm pretty sure this thing is bloody useless. Corrupt media manager installer, Welcome Screen frozen. Cheap, Useless, a waste of TIME
