Hi There, Appropriate attire is modest, whether liberal or very traditional Jewish funeral. If the funeral is in a synagogue rather than a funeral chapel or graveside, it is encouraged that all men wear a headcovering, available at the door. It is a sign of honor and respect that you are attending the funeral and I am sure the family will be grateful. It is also traditional in Jewish life for friends to visit the home during the day and evening for "shivah," the week of mourners remaining at home and receiving visitors. There are no special rituals at the home unless there are evening services at which time men wear a skullcap and can follow a prayerbook with the visitors. Hope it helps
