    The Wizard of OZ is an American musical fantasy film. It is produced by Metro Goldwyn Mayer in the year 1939. It was directed by Victor Fleming, there are some other people who contributed in writing the script such as Noel Langley, Florence Ryerson and Egdar Allan Woolf. The Wizard of Oz was based on the 1900 Novel ,The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L.Frank Baum. Other cast members of the movie included Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr and Frank Morgan. It is famous for its special effects, Technicolor, storytelling about unusual characters. It has become one of the best known albums over the years. Although there were many positive reviews, it won three Academy Awards and was nominated as the Best Picture of the year.
    The film was MGM’s most expensive production. “Over the rainbow” won the Academy award for Best original song and the movie itself won many Academy Awards nominations. There were many songs which were sung in the movei. Come out, Come out by Billie Burke as Glinda and the Munchikins. It Really was no Miracle by Judy Garland and Billy Bletcher, We Thank You Very Sweetly by Frank Cucksey and Joseph Koziel, Ding Dong the Witch is Dead by Billie Burke and Munchkins, “As Mayor of the Munchkin City” by Charles Grapewin.
